Greg Warner | Glass Engraving Artist

Glass Engraving Artist - Greg Warner

Greg Warner - Glass Engraving ArtistGreg was nurtured by a kinship with the woods and waters of Michigan.  He was always searching, searching for an unfulfilled passion.

Greg lived a soulful experience educating and being educated by third graders for twenty-six years.  He and his wife Maxine then left for the open road of cross country trucking.

The search was still there, the passion still unfulfilled.

Greg is now back to the woods and waters sharing the spirit and the kinship of these elements on canvases of wood and glass……….his journey continues.

“It is my goal to create heirlooms for each and everyone of my patrons....touch their souls via my art and nurture a life long friendship.”

My Story

Throughout my childhood I would sharpen 4 or 5 pencils, find a new legal pad and sit down at our dining room table with the truest intensions of drawing/creating a "work of art".  Nothing, nothing ended up on that legal pad.  Several months would go by and I would sharpen 4 or 5 pencils and sit down with a new legal pad.  Nothing, nothing on the pad.

This went on for several years and never once did I ever create one single drawing.  High School came, sports became number one and the pencils were never sharpened again.

Then it was college, then teaching 3rd graders and raising a family.  The pencils and the legal pads lay dormant.  But, inside me a passion was growing.

This passion would sneak out on Friday afternoons as this was the time given to my third graders for their art class and I was their art teacher for two hours.  They even called me an artist.Greg Warner Image

After 26 years of teaching I retired and worked a couple of different jobs.  It was at this time I began "doodling" with pen and ink.  Then it was India ink on glass.  One day after spending hours creating a rather handsome oak tree for my wife's office, I started to clean the glass and frame the tree.  The Windex vanished my tree.

I then discovered the diamond stylus and thus began my passion as a glass engraver.
I now design and engrave mostly nature scenes on multiple panes of glass that are illuminated within hand crafted frames.

Along with my glass engraving, I have discovered a love for wood carving.  My Amish neighbors build beds, chests, mantels, frames, ect. and I carve them.

I thank God everyday for not letting me forget about those sharpened pencils and the new legal pads.
